Trip to Ethnographic Museum of Neuchatel

Some photos from the visit to the Ethnographic Museum of Neuchatel, with professor Sabelli, temporary exhibition 'Figures de l'artifice'.

coffe break in the museum cafeteria.

In the entrance room, an open reflection on the theme of esthetization: one mask is placed on a surgery table, near a wooden statue of a female nude.

Marc-Olivier Gonseth, MEN curator, on aesthetization:

Aesthetization stands for 'concentration on the perfection of the shape. (..) Every body has a body capital to explore, he needs to make the most of his body. (..) The ethnograpghic objects that come here are subject to a surgery operation, parts are suppressed.'
