Using the RSS mixer wasn't so hard, after I understood how to use it. Understanding what feeds are was the problem, but after I got it, it was easy.
Is good to use the mixer, because in this way everybody can see the compact feeds, so is no need to post them separately. The only problem is, after clicking the mix button... the mixing is too slow... actually... very slow. The feeds cover a large area of "activities" as new apple technologies, iPhone, Adobe, Coolers etc. which can be helpful in the area of museums.
So... why not? The museums could use the RSS Mixer too. So, if they have something new they applied the bloggers, "users", visitors could see. And yes, museums could apply the blog "tech.", because in this way the interactivity with the visitors would be more "personal" and affective. Commenting on the exhibitions, the museum, the staff, the design could improve all the area of museums. :)
And yes, they are museums using RSS Mixer: http://rssmixer.com/searches/mixes?term=museums&x=0&y=0
It seems it is effective.
For the assignment I just tried the Mixer out... the rest was "googeling" around in the Mixer site: http://rssmixer.com/mixes/10490-adobe-_-cooling-_-photo

I have tried many times to do the mixing but it was rather impossible because i don't really understand the steps to follow. There is a piece of practical info that i don't know where to gather. For example where to find the feeds. It's ok i have the feeds emailed and then i am able to continue. But if i want to find a specific feed where do i have to search for?Still i find it quite interesting to be applied in museums and educational field but some parts of this technology must be improved in order to be accessible to everyone and promote the interactive part of it.I think that there are museums that use it(at least a few Greeks that i saw) but i am not sure if it's very well known to the majority of people.Yet,technically isn't easy to get a result because it's so much slow!In the end,the above areas mentioned MUST be improved!!!If it goes on this way,it's better to post everything you want one by one.It will cost you much less time! By the way,i was waiting four hours to complete the mix and nothing happened! Not even a single notification of error!

Jumpcut.com
The site is similar to other blogs that give us the possibility to talk with other people, meet new friends, post video, photos, insert comments and so on. Obviously there is the homepage in which you can see the most recent movies and there are lots of links that lead you to the others pages.
In fact, in the homepage, you can find the link that lead you to the page dedicated to the registration. There are, also, the links that invite you to explore the site, or make a movie or upload. There is also the link that permits you to see the pages of the Active People in the site.
If you click on Explore you enter in a page that gives you a list (on the left) of what you can do: see movies, photos, search videos or photos posted by a specific person.
The link Groups lead you in a page that collect movies organized thematically. This page includes also Events and Contests.
The site creates an interaction related to certain themes ( sometimes surreal), but generally confused.
It is not too simple to use the site. For example the home page is not well structured. There isn’t a list of links well organized or highlighted. The intuition is fundamental.
There is a miscellany of topics, lots of these topics are stupid, and we can find movies not educative (concerning for example sex, strange way of fun etc.)
If you click on art, in the box named Popular Tags, you find nothing!
This kind of technologies might be applicable for the museums, but, in this case, the site should be changed almost drastically. It is more a popular site than a cultural site.
The aim of the site is not education. We can find in it joke, parody, “reality shows”. And could be unnecessary for a museum to promote itself by using this site, because the aim of the people that act and browse in this blog is not the learning.

You can find my mix in the following address:www.rssmixer.com/mixes/10539_newsfeed
Now that i got the point is quite easygoing.Still, there is room for improvement. If so,it will be very useful to mix feeds and not post them one by one.

www.splicemusic.com
Splice is a music site that offers the possibility to upload and record sounds, compose songs, listen and share with others (write your opinion) and download for free. The website has also I young style (like colors: orange, green, pink)that creates an atmosphere of fun by enjoying music.
Initially it seems very easy to orient your-self because the topics-function are clear written, but unfortunately there is no detailed written explanation about how to use the program and get started (you find only a brief description about it on topic “make music” or you can also search on the “Forum” the informations but it takes time to found them). The Splice Sequencer is too complicated to use and for a user that doesn’t have any knowledge in audio-editing programs could be difficult.
For this reason I think that a guided-path how to upload and record sounds or compose songs improve the accessibility to users without specific knowledge and have more fun by creating music!
However, this kind of site could be used by the cultural institutions as a support to create in a simply way sound-track for museum’s visit or the same user can enjoy by recording his/her sound/song.
For example in the education field a teacher can used Splice to improve the sensibility of the students by creating music and helping them to understand “what it means mix songs and sounds together or what kind of style songs and sounds can mixed together”.
Unfortunately, the website is not linked with any museum, and do not have any kind of partnership with them.
To conclude, the idea of Splice is very good because it attracts people that can decide to enjoy music as a protagonist or as a simpler listener!

Jumpcut.com is a free social website in which is possible to upload, edit and share multimedia files (like photos, videos and clips) in a simple way. In fact, it reminds a little bit the popular YouTube (i.e. in the interface). But differently, it offers a fully featured video editor right in the browser that allows to arrange and clip video, add music, titles, transitions and effects. Finally it’s possible to publish the created work and maybe send it to friends or embed it in any web page. Already in the homepage the user understands the basic functions offered by Jumpcut. As I said, the user can share the uploaded files with other users and interact with them, like posting personal comments for example.
Offered tools are very intuitive and user friendly. In fact you don’t need help (like reading operating instructions) for edit the files, and I think that for inexpert users in multimedia editors the tools are quite sufficient.
In the homepage we find a link called “Groups”, where every single user can be the promoter of a new group or join an existent group. The topics are various, that means that it’s possible to find anything (for example: “animation” group, “podcasts” group, “music” group and unfortunately also a large lascivious repertory).
Jumpcut in itself can’t be used for educational activities, least of all for museums. The proposed interactions are focused on amusement (sometimes also degenerative) rather than education. Although we find some attempts (like videos of famous artists), unfortunately not much visited.

However, in my opinion, the offered technologies and the structure of the site in itself, could be used by cultural institutions and museums, for example:

creating a website for a collectivity of museums, using the same technologies (that means: videos, clips, photos and maybe also podcasts) in which the users (future or past visitors) can learn more about the current/ past exhibitions offered (like short videos with introduction), explore the itineraries of permanent collections and trace their personalized route (3D tour), know the history of the museums and finally post and share their own experiences with other user, showing them photos and videos. Utopia?

Anyway, I’ve tried the movie-editor of Jumpcut and created a short movie with some of my photos… it was funny and very simple.

43things.com is a kind of blog community which is based on social network by using tags technology. The users of this site make their goals, try to achieve them. This is the main issue here.
Main theme of the site is to share various know-how to achieve user’s own goals and encourage the process each other. Another tip to use this site is provided practical banners related to their goals.
It is very simple to join and to use to users.
First of all, joining process of the site is needed very few personal questions. For instance, essential information is E-mail address, ID, password and insertion of some letters on the first page. That is all information to join.
In addition, the purpose of this site is only one which is to achieve our dreams of life. We need to consider about our own goals when we use. It means that this service provide chances to concentrate on user’s dreams continuously. After achieve the some goals, site users can be satisfied with the process and result, then they make different goals.
Furthermore, main flow this site is decided many choices by using tag technology. Even when we cannot find key word, hundreds tags can lead you.
Especially tag technology can be adapted to the sites of museum or education world. The technology has possibility to evoke user’s curiosity when someone looks around on the Internet.
Currently I cannot find any museum which is applied this technology. However, I believe
that it will be one of the exciting skills in many stages.
